Rooms have underfloor heating for those chilly winter evenings. We have 4 suites that have kitchenettes for that little extra comfort for the discerning Guest. We arrange shuttle services to and from the various airports in Johannesburg at an additional cost. Lunches and dinners can be arranged for all Guests. Our magnificent gardens, deck area and lounge areas are available to all guests. Our meeting rooms can be booked, subject to availability. Many companies consistently book their directors, management or staff into The Farmhouse year after year. Some of our guests stay at The Farmhouse Linden for up to six months at a time. Our rooms are surrounded by more than 750 Old English rose bushes, which when in bloom, add to the delight of the place. Shopping and movies are just 5 minutes away at the Cresta shopping centre, and in nearby Rosebank, you will find the largest African Market in Johannesburg. Nowadays Linden is home to South Africans of all creeds and colours, with the well-known Albertina Sisulu, the suburb’s most famous resident. With the development of the area, it was perhaps inevitable that the orchards disappeared, but some of the remaining fruit trees can still be seen here and there. Today, Linden is a quiet and well-treed area, away from the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg’s commercial centre, but not so far away as to be inconvenient. One of the attributes of The Farmhouse Linden is, in fact, its location. The Farmhouse Linden was one the suburb’s first guesthouses and is a throw-back to the days of old: To the days of Louw Geldenhuys and Johannes Jacobus van der Linde, and to an era of grace and charm, and of warmth and hospitality. Renovated to its former glory, and decorated and furnished in the style and luxury of yesteryear, with an eclectic mix of old and new, this magnificent guesthouse is today a member of the South African Tourism Grading Council and justifiably graded four stars. Whilst The Farmhouse itself is breathtaking in its splendour, the corrugated iron roof and oregon pine doors and furniture are a delight, the rooms nestled away in the property with their adjoining courtyards, are unique. As are the collection of antiques, memorabilia and period pieces, which are conversation pieces in their own right. Then there are the gardens, which are truly a sight to behold. The Farmhouse Collection Guesthouse Linden is a member of the South African Tourism Grading Council and has a four star grading for Accommodation. Seated in our gardens, the City will seem light years away; but you can rest assured that it is no more than 15 minutes away. The food is of high standard, the functions, weddings, flowers, too many to mention.
