Starting in 2005, Dean chose to build an anti slip products brand of his own rather than to operate under the name of a supplier that he had the national distribution rights for. What started out as a conceived idea, and later became a small business initiative, has been transformed into a successful international business venture. Strydom maintains that these notable achievements are a testament to his ability to keep calm and positive during difficult and stressful situations, with his sense of humour serving as an effective coping mechanism.
