We are a licensed nursery school based in Northriding. Each classrooms has a teacher and an assistant to ensure that each child receives adequate attention. The management of Shine Your Light Nursery School is always available to discuss any matter concerning your child’s welfare. This class is full of lively activities: singing nursery rhymes and dancing; play-dough time; storytime; arts and crafts; baking; free indoor play. Our curriculum includes group and individual activities in pursuit of learning alphabets, numbers, colours and shapes. There's great focus on gross motor skills as well as communication and only an introductory level focus on fine motor skills at this stage. Children will be given adequate individual attention to enhance their ability to learn and achieve their developmental milestones. We rise up to the challenge of keeping this age group stimulated enough to enhance their attention span and learning ability. We have a clear focus on developing the fine motor skills through drawing, painting, colouring, writing, reading, beading and playing educational FUN games. This age-group is more social and emotionally intelligent. Therefore group-work, socialising, and role-playing activities are stimulating and FUN! Due to advanced gross motor skills this age-group tends to be very adventurous and exploratory. Children are supervised at all times whether indoors or outdoors. We have planned lessons across different subjects, e.g language, mathematics, arts and crafts etc, for each day corresponding to the theme of the week. Children are allowed freedom of expression according to their own understanding and to learn at their own pace. Creativity is encouraged as well as individualism in conjunction with teamwork. We believe that children deserve respect as much as adults do.
