Our children should feel safe and treasured while in the care of our qualified and experienced educators. We have an open-door policy and welcome parents to visit and appreciate the school in action, first-hand. RENS respects all religions, and welcomes children from all cultural backgrounds. Our annual walk takes advantage of our proximity to Emmarentia Botanical Gardens, culminating in a celebratory get-together at the school. One Friday a year, kids are dropped off at school in their PJs with a picnic supper and a torch for an evening of fun and adventure in the care of their teachers. Takes place every other year, the campout is a wonderful opportunity for dads to bond with their kids and get to know the other dads at the school. We prepare the children in a stress-free, fun way to stage an event that is appropriately representative of the pre-school child. At RENS, we believe that good communication with parents is vitally important. Your child’s progress can also always be discussed directly with the teacher after school. My children (by now there were two) were not limited by a singular approach and their experience of pre-school was adapted to accommodate their individual learning styles, strengths and abilities. They came to understand who they were and how to function in the wider world as respected and valued individuals even though their developmental paths were polar opposites. One size and one way of thinking and teaching does not fit all and being able to learn through play easily facilitated their individual learning and growing experience. Taking cognizance of ongoing research and findings in Early Childhood Development and Education has meant that they were not squashed into an ill-fitting box but rather were guided to build their own unique box to stand tall on. Balanced early childhood education that caters to the whole child: socially, emotionally, physically & intellectually, including the gifted child.
