Michael is Derek’s son living and studying in Cape Town, hoping to become a film producer in a few years. He is my rock, keeping my feet on the ground when the artist in me gets carried away. People don’t like reading about other people’s annoyances. It was a wonderful celebration of love with their dearest friends and family, and the whole day revolved around the beautiful relationships they have with the people close to them. It was also an opportunity to christen their amazingly beautiful boy, Joshua. One such annoyance for me are guests with cell phones and cameras. And people are oblivious to what they look like doing this because, well, they are too busy doing it! With arms extended into the aisle, they have no regard for what it might look like on the photos that the couple are paying thousands of rands to a professional to take. Why do you need a mediocre photo of the bride walking in, the first kiss or the first dance? There is an easy solution- it is called the Unplugged Wedding. Once the ceremony and confetti toss are over, your guests can take out their phones again (if they have to!) There will be plenty opportunity for them to snap away during the day, but a little consideration toward the once in a lifetime moments your photographer needs to capture, goes a long way. We had a great time over in south africa and at the wedding. We are all just so excited to get down to the sunny shores of KZN and discover a new area.
