In 1982, Wendy decided to live her dream and open a country-style nursery school. Back then, the Broadacres area was in the countryside. Wendy purchased the property, which was an old chicken farm and started the school with just 14 pupils. Phedre and Nigel Fitton purchased the school in 1996 and continued to grow and develop it into a well-known independent community nursery school. Both are lifelong learners and promoters of education change. They are experienced educators and leaders and bring with them a strong ethos and culture of visionary educational leadership. The existing nursery school with its rural charm and unique farm environment remains central to the ethos of the Broadacres Academy brand with the Broadacres Academy Junior Preparatory School being established with its first Grade 1 class opening in January At this unique independent educational establishment, small classes with qualified and committed teachers ensure that your child’s every need is catered for in the structured daily programme.
